We left them deliberately uncoated, because the plastic-skin coating on waterproof cushions traps heat and makes you sweat, and the coating cracks after a couple of summers of UV anyway. We advise storing the cushions when not in use.

• Burbage Reclining Rattan Sofa Set + Adjustable Table in Stone Grey - For the bit at the end of the meal when you can't face moving, the two-seater sofa and both armchairs recline independently on a hydraulic lever set into the chair arm. That's a recline you can dial to any angle, not a chair that clicks between two or three preset positions. That same table lifts to dining height for the meal and drops to coffee height after.
