Garden Centre Shopping makes its Rattan Coffee Sets around one decision: the frame has to be aluminium with a coating thick enough to outlast the seasons. • Frame That Cannot Rust: Every frame in this range carries a 0.2mm powder coating over solid aluminium, 2.5 to 3 times thicker than the standard 0.06-0.08mm coating on most aluminium frames. That thickness seals the metal through repeated frost cycles, so the frame never starts rusting from the inside through joints or bolt holes. The frame just doesn't rust.
• Hand-Woven Rattan That Won't Crack: Our hand-woven rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE, which keeps colour and flexibility through full UK winters. The PVC alternative used at the lower price tier turns chalky and brittle by its second summer, snapping at the weave joints when someone sits down hard. Our HDPE won't fade, won't rot, won't crack.
• Cushions Thick Enough For The Whole Afternoon: Our coffee sets come with 10cm-thick cushions, not the 6-8cm fill found in most lower-priced sets. We've watched thinner cushions compress after about thirty minutes on the showroom floor; by hour two of a Sunday afternoon outside, you're feeling the chair frame underneath. We don't waterproof them either, because the coating is what makes a cushion feel clammy and noisy in summer. Store yours inside or in a deck box, wash the covers when they need it, and the comfort holds up for years.

The cushions are 10cm thick rather than the 6-8cm fill in the lower price tier, and the backs recline along with the seat instead of just tilting against your shoulders.
