Garden Centre Shopping grey rattan garden furniture is weatherproof and aluminium-framed, built to leave outside all year (no cover required). Family-run from our Leicestershire showroom since 2001, with cushions, delivery, and a 3-Year Rust-Free Structural Guarantee included on every order.
Our grey rattan is the cool-toned weave that suits most contemporary patios, sat against slate, light render, painted timber or grass without fighting any of them for attention. We have grey rattan dining sets, reclining sets, corner sofas, companion sets and bistro pairs at Garden Centre Shopping, in sizes from a balcony-friendly 2-seater up to an 8-seater family corner.
We have been selling weatherproof rattan from our Leicestershire showroom since 2001, and every set in this range is one we make ourselves under our Sapcote, Burbage and Sharnford labels. Every set goes through our showroom floor before it goes on the website, and the price you see on the page is the price you pay with delivery included.
Garden Centre Shopping Grey Rattan Furniture. Built To Stay Out Through Every British Winter
Garden Centre Shopping grey rattan furniture is what we recommend when you want a cooler-toned weave that works with stone, slate or modern paving, and you want a set that stays out through wet British winters without a cover. Every set in this range uses the same aluminium frame and the same UV-stabilised HDPE rattan we have been selling since 2001, in the same grey weave whether you buy the entry bistro or the bigger reclining dining sets.
- Aluminium Frames That Cannot Rust: Every grey rattan frame in this range is aluminium, not steel, because steel rusts from the inside through the joints and bolt holes where a powder coating cannot fully seal. If you've owned a steel-frame set before, you'll have seen the rust come through the joints by the second wet winter, with orange staining on the patio underneath. We use a 0.2mm powder coating over the aluminium underneath, which is roughly 2.5 to 3 times thicker than the 0.06 to 0.08mm coating you tend to find on most aluminium frames, so the metal stays sealed through repeated frost cycles. Our frames just don't rust.
- HDPE Grey Rattan That Won't Fade Or Crack: Our HDPE rattan is UV-stabilised across every grey set in this range, because the PVC rattan that dominates the cheaper end of the price tier turns brittle and starts cracking and snapping at the weave joints after one or two summers in direct sun. Every weave on every set we make is HDPE rather than PVC, because PVC is non-recyclable and can be toxic. Our HDPE holds its colour and flexibility through full UK winters and summers. Our grey rattan won't fade, won't rot, won't crack.
- Leave Outside All Year Round, No Cover Required: If your furniture needs a cover to survive winter, it isn't really weatherproof, it's just outdoor-tolerant. Our frame and our weave on every set in this range stay outside in the rain, snow, and ice without one, so you don't end up wrestling a cover on and off every wet weekend. We also didn't want you replacing covers that degrade under UV in a couple of summers and blow off in winter gales. You'd lose the cover by next spring anyway.
- 10cm Cushions With Washable Covers: Our cushions are 10cm thick on every set in this range, which is roughly the difference between still feeling supported through a long Sunday lunch and feeling the chair frame underneath after 30 to 40 minutes on the 6 to 8cm cushions you get with budget sets. We chose not to make ours waterproof, because waterproof coatings make the cushions clammy, trap heat in summer, and the coating itself cracks after a couple of summers under UV anyway. Our covers come off and go in the washing machine. We hate waterproof cushions.
- Ready Assembled Or Slot Together In A Minute: Every set in this grey rattan range arrives ready-assembled or with one connection step that takes about a minute, where you slot the chair backs into the bases. We didn't want you spending an afternoon on bolts, washers, and misaligned screw holes. Every set is packed in our Leicestershire warehouse and shipped as whole units, which is why they go straight out of the box and onto the patio.
- Made And Stocked By Us, Backed By 3 Years: We make every set in this grey rattan range under our own Sapcote, Burbage and Sharnford labels, named after the Leicestershire villages where we trade. We are not a drop-shipper, and the same family business runs the factory, the warehouse and the showroom. Our specs are the same aluminium and HDPE you'd pay double for under a big-name brand, sat on our showroom floor at reasonable prices and backed by the 3-Year Rust-Free Structural Guarantee in writing. We've been family-run since 2001, with more than 2 million customers behind us.
Garden Centre Shopping Grey Rattan Sets. From Bistro Pairs To Eight-Seater Corners
We have grey rattan in pretty much every shape a garden needs. Our entry-level sets are the bistro pairs for a balcony or doorway corner, our mid-range covers the 4-seater and 6-seater dining sets for the patio, and our bigger pieces are corner lounges and reclining dining sets for a garden where the whole family eats outside in summer. We'd suggest looking at the five below first.
- Sapcote Bistro Set in Grey Rattan - If you have a balcony, a courtyard, or just a doorway corner you want to use for morning coffee without taking over the whole patio, this is where the range starts. We size it for two with a small side table between the chairs, and there is no assembly to do. We use the same aluminium frame and HDPE rattan as the bigger sets above it, at the smallest footprint we make.
- Sharnford Stacking 4 Seater Dining Set in Grey Rattan - For when you want a proper 4-seater dining set, but you also want the chairs out of the way when nobody's eating. Our Sharnford chairs stack into the corner of the patio, so the table sits where it is and the floor is clear the rest of the time. We pair four stacking chairs with a tempered glass top, on the same aluminium and HDPE rattan we use across the range.
- Sapcote 6 Seater Round Rattan Dining Set in Grey - Our round 6-seater is the one we'd suggest if you host family meals more often than not. Our round top means nobody is stuck at the head, the conversation goes round the table rather than splitting in half down the long sides, and you can reach the dishes from any seat. We pair six high-back chairs around a 5mm tempered glass round, on the same aluminium and HDPE we use across the range.
- Burbage 6 Seater Round Reclining Dining Set in Stone Grey Rattan - For the bit at the end of the meal when you can't face moving. Every chair has a hydraulic recline mechanism with the lever on the chair arm, so you can lean back to any angle you want once the plates are clear, rather than being locked into the three or four preset angles cheaper notched mechanisms give you. Our recliner saves walking over to the sofa, or buying a sofa as well, come to that. Stone grey is a slightly cooler and deeper tone than our standard grey, and it works nicely with slate or dark paving.
- Burbage Large Rattan Corner Lounge Set in Stone Grey - If your patio runs to 3m by 3m or more and you want a corner lounge that seats the whole family with the dog under the table, this is the larger end of our grey range. We pair a wraparound corner sofa with a height-adjustable table, so the same set goes from coffee height for an afternoon drink up to dining height for a Sunday lunch. Our stone grey weave looks slightly deeper than the Sapcote grey, and the cushions come off and go in the wash.
We stock the same sets in three colours: brown, cappuccino, and grey, with the brown range and cappuccino range running the same Sapcote, Burbage and Sharnford models in different rattan tones. We've split the menu above by colour, and you can also browse by set type (dining, reclining, corner, bistro, companion) from the rattan furniture landing page.
Three of our most-read pieces around grey rattan: Can Rattan Garden Furniture Get Wet? explains the year-round, no-cover story; FAQs on Synthetic Rattan Furniture answers the questions we hear most often in the showroom; and Best Reclining Rattan Garden Furniture walks through the Burbage range if you're leaning towards the recliners. We also cover the upper end of the range in Best Luxury Rattan Garden Furniture.
We'd put a set from this range in our own garden, honestly. Our aluminium frames cannot rust, our HDPE rattan doesn't fade, and our cushions come off in the wash. Our experience: the first March after you buy a set, you walk past where you left it in October and the grey looks the same. We're at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire if you'd rather come and sit on one in person.
