Our frame coating is 0.2mm thick, 2.5 to 3 times what most aluminium frames get. That thickness is what seals our frames through repeated frost cycles on an unheated conservatory winter night.

We specify aluminium for every frame because aluminium physically cannot rust. We reject steel frames because they rust from the inside out through joints and bolt holes; by the time orange staining shows on the slabs, the structure is already weakened. We hate waterproof cushions. We've watched coated cushions trap heat, sweat, and noise; the coating cracks under UV within two or three summers, and you end up replacing the cushions anyway. We chose non-waterproof, breathable fabric specifically so the cushions don't feel clammy when the conservatory hits 30 degrees on an August afternoon. Our covers come off and go in the washing machine.
