Feature Highlights

01Four independent recline angles at the same time
The 2-seater sofa reclines independently on each side, both armchairs recline, and a hydraulic lever on the arm of each chair fixes the back at any angle you choose. Four people sit at four different angles. Nobody has to share a setting with the person next to them.
-
02One table that works for lounging and for dining
Raise the table from a low lounging position up to dining height when plates come out, then drop it again afterwards. One piece of furniture covers both jobs, so the patio isn't split between low-table and high-table furniture fighting for the same floor space.
-
03Stretches from four seats to six with the ottomans
Day to day, tuck the ottomans under the armchairs as footstools. When the family arrives, pull them out next to the sofa as backless seats and you can seat six comfortably. No hunting for kitchen chairs, no separate eight-seater taking up the patio every day just for Sunday lunches.
-
04Silver Grey, and built to live outside year-round
Aluminium frame with a 0.2mm powder coating, so it cannot rust at the frame and not at the recline pivots either. The hand-woven synthetic rattan is UV-stabilised, so the cool Silver Grey is the same architectural tone in year five as it is on day one. Leave the set out year-round; no cover required.
-
05Rearrange the modular pieces to suit the patio
The sofa, armchairs, ottomans and table stand as separate pieces, so the layout fits whatever shape your patio happens to be. Run the chairs alongside the sofa on a long terrace, face them across the table on a square patio, or slide an armchair clear of the back-door arc when the bi-folds open wide.

Can everyone really find their own angle on this set?
Yes. The two-seater sofa reclines independently on each side, and both armchairs recline as well, so four people sit at four different angles at the same time. One person leans right back with a book on the sofa, the partner sits more upright with a cup of tea on the same sofa, and a third and fourth person take the armchairs at whatever angle suits them. We designed this set differently to the notched-recline chairs that lock you into three preset angles.
Each seat carries a hydraulic lever on the arm. Lean back, the lever steadily reclines the chair, and you fix it at any angle you choose. Pull the lever again and the hydraulic system returns the chair upright. The mechanism is aluminium throughout that cannot rust, including at the lever pivots and the bolts where a steel-frame recliner corrodes first, so the mechanism doesn't corrode or seize the way steel-frame recliners do inside two or three wet UK winters.
What does the adjustable table actually do?
You raise it from a low lounging position to a proper dining height in a single motion, so one table covers two jobs on the patio. The difference between coffee height and dining height is the difference between balancing a plate on your knees and eating properly. Keep the table low while you are lounging with drinks, raise it when food comes out, then drop it again afterwards.
Most patios cannot accommodate both a coffee table and a separate dining table, especially the kind of contemporary patio this set is bought for. One table that does both jobs frees up the rest of the space for the seating itself, for planters, or for the route past the bi-fold doors.
Will it scale from a quiet afternoon to a family lunch for six?
Yes. Four main seats day to day, six when the grandchildren visit. The ottomans sit under the recliners as footstools when it is just the two of you with the chairs leaned back, and pull out as backless seats next to the sofa for a Sunday lunch with six round the table. You are not searching for two more kitchen chairs every time someone visits, and you are not buying a separate eight-seater for the four or five weekends a year you actually need that capacity.
Is it really all-weather, and will the Silver Grey fade?
Yes on the all-weather, no on the fade. The frame is aluminium, which cannot rust, and we use a 0.2mm powder coating, two to three times thicker than what most aluminium garden furniture carries, so the coating doesn't break down through wet winters and freezing nights. We also use hand-woven UV-stabilised synthetic rattan that will not fade, rot or split outdoors year-round, and the Silver Grey is mixed into the polymer itself rather than painted on. The cool tone on day one is the same cool tone in year five.
The structure doesn't need a cover, so it saves you the hassle and the £50 to £100 a cover would cost. In our experience, customers come back ten or fifteen years later saying their rattan is just as good as when they first bought it. The cushions are the only part with an evening routine; a deck box or a shelf indoors keeps them dry between uses.
How does this compare to other reclining sofa sets at this price?
Considering a brand-name reclining sofa set at £3,000 or more? You would be paying mainly for the marketing and the polished website. The actual furniture is almost exactly the same as ours: aluminium frame, UV-stabilised rattan, comparable cushion depth, a hydraulic recline you can fix at any angle. We design our own Sapcote Garden Furniture ranges and sell them direct from our family-run Leicestershire showroom since 2001, without the excessive markup of big name brands.
