We use UV-stabilised HDPE rattan because it will not fade, rot, or go brittle - even after years of direct sun. Cheaper PVC rattan dries out and cracks after a couple of seasons, which is why we stopped stocking it years ago. The table comes with 5mm tempered safety glass, which handles the temperature swings you get outdoors in the UK - cold nights followed by warm afternoons - without the cracking risk you get from standard glass.

All you need to do is wipe the table down when it needs it and stack the chairs away when you want your patio back.

Will the Cappuccino rattan fade in the sun?

The HDPE rattan is UV-stabilised, meaning it will not fade or go brittle under normal outdoor use. Cheaper PVC rattan tends to dry out and crack after a couple of summers in direct sunlight. HDPE is a different material entirely, built to handle sustained UV exposure without degrading.

Is the glass top safe for family use?

It's 5mm tempered safety glass, which handles knocks and temperature swings better than standard glass. If tempered glass does break, it shatters into small, rounded pieces rather than sharp shards - that's the key safety difference for a table where children are eating. It also wipes clean in seconds.

We're a family-run business, here since 2001, and we answer the phone 7 days a week. What's the difference between this and cheaper 6-seater rattan d

Frame material is the biggest difference. Cheaper sets typically use steel, which corrodes from the inside out through joints and bolt holes - in our experience, that's where wobble starts after two or three seasons. The Sharnford uses an aluminium frame that cannot rust. You also get stacking chairs, which most 6-seaters at lower price points don't include.

Do the chairs really stack neatly?

Six chairs stack into the footprint of a single chair. Our customers tell us this is what turns a 6-seater from occasional-use furniture into something they eat at on weekday evenings - especially on patios where the space is shared with a walkway or back door.

Can I see the Sharnford range in person before I buy?

Our showroom at Sapcote Garden Centre in Leicestershire has the range on display, so you can sit at the table and check the Cappuccino colour in person. Our helpful and knowledgeable staff can talk you through the materials and answer any questions on the day.

How much assembly is required?

Only the table. The chairs arrive fully assembled and stack when not in use. The table base is four panels that screw together and then screw to the tabletop. All screws are included, and a screwdriver is the only tool you should need.

Do the chairs have handles, and what are they for?

Each chair has a brushed aluminium handle to give you a solid grip point when lifting and stacking. Without it, you end up grabbing rattan weave and dragging rather than lifting. It's one of those details you notice most on a Tuesday evening tidy-up, not in the showroom.

The aluminium frame cannot rust and the UV-stabilised HDPE rattan will not fade, rot, or go brittle in normal outdoor use, so the set can stay outside through rain, frost, and snow. A cover is optional for keeping it clean between uses, but the set does not need one to survive winter.

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
