The synthetic rattan handles rain, sun, and temperature swings without turning brittle or fading. PVC rattan - the type found on many cheaper sets - tends to crack and discolour after a couple of summers in direct UV. What we use is HDPE rattan, which is UV-stabilised so it holds its shape and colour season after season.

The brushed aluminium handles on each chair give you a proper grip point for lifting and stacking, so you're not constantly pulling on the rattan weave itself. In our experience, it's a small detail that makes a noticeable difference every time you tidy up after a meal - and it protects the weave from the kind of wear we see on chairs that don't have them.

The frame material is the main difference. Aluminium cannot rust, so you're not relying on powder coating to hold around joints and bolt holes. How much assembly is required?

Only the table. The chairs arrive fully assembled and stack when not in use. The table base is four panels that screw together and then screw to the tabletop. All screws are included, and a screwdriver is the only tool you should need.

Do the chairs stack properly, or is it more of a marketing claim

The chairs slot into a stable stack - all six fit into a single compact column, so you can reclaim the patio space in under a minute. It's the feature that makes a 6-seater workable on a normal UK patio, because you're not committing to six chairs being out all week.

The aluminium frame cannot rust and the synthetic rattan is all-weather, so the whole set stays outside all year round with no cover needed. Covers are optional for keeping things cleaner between uses - not for protection.

Does this set come with cushions or seat pads?

This set comes as chairs, table, and glass top - no cushions included. You can add your own seat pads to suit the colour and comfort level you prefer. We advise storing any pads away when not in use - we avoid stiff plastic-coated cushions!

Is the glass top tempered safety glass?

Delivery is included in the price, 3-7 working days to mainland UK. Your furniture is delivered on pallets via our courier, and we'll email you a timed delivery window so you're not waiting around all day.

Worth knowing: our courier delivers to the kerbside or driveway, they won't take items around the back of the house, and the pallet and boxes are left with you. If you'd prefer a white-glove delivery with set-up and rubbish taken away, get in touch and we can usually help.

We dispatch from our Leicestershire garden centre. "In stock" means we have it here, ready to send, not drop-shipped from a third-party warehouse.

Returns: if you're not happy, let us know within 7 days and you can return it within 30 days for a refund (minus return delivery costs). The furniture must be in its original condition and packaging, and we'll arrange the collection with you.
