Thornby is the latest Leicestershire-village name in our range, alongside the other four Sapcote sub-ranges. The build is the build we have been selling for two decades: aluminium structure under a 0.2mm powder-coated finish, with hand-woven all-weather rattan on top.
The Natural weave is a warm cream tone against red brick, weathered sandstone, cream stone paving, or cottage-style planting, where grey would be a cool contrast against the same backdrop. It is the closest of the three Thornby colourways to the look of traditional non-synthetic rattan, picked by buyers who want the rattan to look the way they expect rattan to look.
Aluminium frame finished with a 0.2mm powder coating, so it cannot rust. UV stabilisation on the weave, so the Natural tone doesn't fade or bleach through summer sun and winter frost. No cover required at any point in the year.
The aluminium frame and the rattan stay out all year without a cover. Cushion care is the one evening routine; bring them indoors between sittings, or keep them on a hallway shelf if you have not got a garage.

Lighter rattan does need a quick hose-off where a charcoal set might not. The good news is the surface does not absorb the marks: UV-stabilised HDPE is a sealed polymer, so dirt sits on top rather than soaking in, and rinses away with garden-hose pressure. Cheaper PVC weave soaks up stains and yellows; ours doesn't.
On fading: UV stabilisation matters more on a light weave, not less, because unprotected rattan bleaches pale sooner than dark colours hide it. The whole Thornby range carries the UV stabiliser, so the Natural doesn't fade through full UK summers.
