Garden Centre Shopping rattan balcony sets are weatherproof and aluminium-framed, built to leave outside all year (no cover required). Family-run from our Leicestershire showroom since 2001, with cushions, delivery, and a 3-Year Rust-Free Structural Guarantee included on every set.
Our balcony sets are what we'd recommend when your outside is a balcony, terrace, or small patio rather than a full garden. We sized them for tight footprints without cutting back on the build that goes into our bigger sets.
Garden Centre Shopping has sold rattan since 2001. Every set in this range is built on the same aluminium frame that cannot rust, the same UV-stabilised HDPE rattan, and the same 10cm cushions used across our Sapcote, Burbage, and Sharnford ranges.
Garden Centre Shopping Rattan Balcony Sets. Sized For The Balcony Without Cutting Corners On Build.
Garden Centre Shopping rattan balcony sets are what we'd recommend when you've got a balcony rather than a garden, and you don't want the furniture to feel like an apologetic cut-back version of a real set. We've watched, since 2001, how balcony sets get used: a coffee at sunrise, a glass of wine after work, no patio cover wrestling on a windy Wednesday night. Our balcony sets are built on the same frames and weave as our larger ranges, just sized for the space you actually have.
- Strong Aluminium Frame That Cannot Rust: Every frame in this range is aluminium, which physically cannot rust. We use a 0.2mm powder coating on top, 2.5 to 3 times thicker than the 0.06 to 0.08mm coating most aluminium frames are sold with. That coating thickness seals the metal through repeated frost cycles. Steel frames in less expensive sets rust from the inside out through bolt holes and joints, and once that starts, you'll see orange staining on the balcony tiles underneath, which is exactly what a balcony set is supposed to avoid.
- UV-Stabilised Rattan That Won't Fade: We use UV-stabilised HDPE rattan in every set in this range, hand-woven over the aluminium frame. We don't use the PVC rattan that dominates the supermarket end of the market, because PVC contains plasticisers that escape under UV exposure, turning chalky and cracking at the weave joints after a couple of summers in direct sun. HDPE doesn't degrade that way. We have customers coming back into the showroom 15 years later, quite often, with rattan that's still perfectly fine.
- Thick Cushions With Washable Covers: Our cushions are 10cm thick, with breathable, non-waterproof fabric and removable washable covers. At 6 to 8cm, the cushions in less expensive sets compress under you within 30 to 40 minutes, and you start to feel the rattan through. Ours hold their shape across a long Sunday afternoon. Our covers slide off in seconds for a wash, which on a balcony without a separate storage shed matters more than it does on a patio with a deck box.
- Leave Outside All Year, No Cover Required: Every set we make in this range has an aluminium frame and UV-stabilised HDPE rattan, so there's no rust, no fading, and no cracking at the weave joints. We back that with a 3-Year Rust-Free Structural Guarantee on every set. We don't ship covers because they're a problem in themselves, doubly so on a top-floor balcony: they degrade in UV after a couple of summers, blow off in strong wind, and you'd lose track of yours by next spring anyway. Our sets stay where you left them in October and look the same the first March after you buy them.
- Ready To Use Straight Away: Most sets in this range ship ready-assembled from our Leicestershire warehouse. The Burbage chair backs slot into the bases, which takes a minute. Sharnford and Sapcote balcony sets need at most a glass top set on the frame and a couple of chair tweaks, but even then it's minutes, not hours. We designed the range that way deliberately, because a balcony isn't the place for hours of flat-pack with the lounge furniture pushed up against the patio doors.
- Sized For The Balcony, Built Like A Full Patio Set: We size the balcony range tight, with 2-seater bistros, companion sets, and mini modular corners, but build them on the same aluminium frames and UV-stabilised HDPE rattan as our 8-seater patio sets. The smaller footprint is for fitting through the lift and onto the balcony. The frame thickness, coating spec, and weave material are exactly what the larger sets get. We don't make a cheaper version for the smaller set.
Garden Centre Shopping Rattan Balcony Furniture. Sized For Balcony And Terrace Footprints.
We've designed the balcony range to fit the tightest top-floor balcony and the slightly bigger ground-floor terrace, on the same aluminium-and-HDPE build as our full-size patio ranges. Our pieces come in grey, dark grey, latte, natural, brown, cappuccino, and stone grey rattan, across stacking bistro sets, companion sets, reclining bistros, and mini modular corners. We'd recommend starting with the five sets below.
- Sharnford Stacking Rattan Bistro Set in Grey Rattan - The Sharnford Stacking Bistro is the set we'd recommend when your balcony spends most of the week with the door closed and only gets used for morning coffee. The chairs stack into a single tower against the wall when you're not using them, so the balcony space is yours back during the day. £453 with delivery included for the grey rattan.
- Sapcote Companion Set in Grey Rattan - Our Sapcote Companion is the entry into the balcony range at £454 with delivery included, sized for two angled seats and a small shared table between them. The angled seating is what makes it work for a balcony: both people face out at the view, not at each other. Same aluminium-and-HDPE build as the larger sets, just on the smallest footprint we make.
- Sapcote Reclining Rattan Bistro Set in Grey - The Sapcote Reclining Bistro is the set we'd recommend when comfort matters more than seat count and you want the option to put your feet up. Reclining chair backs and matching footstools for two people in a balcony footprint, on grey rattan. £874 with delivery included.
- Burbage Rocking & Reclining Rattan Bistro Set in Latte - Our Burbage Rocking and Reclining Bistro is the set we'd recommend when it's just the two of you with a book and a drink, and you don't want to be sitting up straight the whole afternoon. The chairs rock and recline on a hydraulic side-handle, so you can lean back to any angle without a notched mechanism clicking through preset positions. £1,074 with delivery included for the latte variant.
- Sapcote Mini Modular Rattan Corner Sofa Set in Grey Rattan - We made the Sapcote Mini Modular Corner for the balcony or terrace that's big enough for a corner set without quite stretching to a full lounge. Up to six seats in modular pieces you can arrange as an L-shape or split into separate seats when you need flexibility. Same build as the full-size modular range, just on a smaller footprint. £1,174 with delivery included for the grey rattan.
If your space is more patio than balcony, our full-size rattan companion seats and modular garden furniture run on the same aluminium-and-HDPE build with more configurations. For tight balconies where the chairs need to stack out of the way, see stackable garden furniture.

Our sets give a top-floor flat the same proper-furniture feel as a downstairs patio. No cover wrestling in the wind, no flat-pack in the hallway, just a set on the balcony ready to use when the sun comes round. We make these for the bit of outside you actually have, not the garden someone wishes they had.
