Garden Centre Shopping rattan furniture starts with a 0.2mm powder-coated aluminium frame that cannot rust. We specify a coating 2.5 to 3 times thicker than the 0.06-0.08mm finish most aluminium garden furniture gets, and our coating seals the metal through every freeze-thaw cycle. We then hand-weave UV-stabilised HDPE rattan over the frame, the polymer family that won't fade, won't rot, won't crack, even through full UK winters.   We chose aluminium over steel because aluminium physically cannot rust. Every frame in this range gets a 0.2mm powder coating, 2.5 to 3 times thicker than the 0.06-0.08mm coating most aluminium garden furniture gets. Our coating seals the metal against moisture penetration across every freeze-thaw cycle, where the cheaper steel frames fail at joints and bolt holes. The first March after you buy a set from us, you'll walk past where you left it in October and the slabs underneath will be exactly as they were.

• Rattan That Won't Crack Or Fade:

  Our rattan is UV-stabilised HDPE, hand-woven over the frame. We rejected PVC outright, the cheaper rattan that dominates the budget end of the market, because plasticisers out-gas under UV: by the second summer the weave goes chalky and brittle, and by the third it starts cracking and snapping at the weave joints. Our HDPE holds its colour and flexibility through full UK winters and summers. Every set in our range looks the same in March as it did in October.

• Cushions That Stay Supportive:

  Every set in this range ships with 10cm cushions and washable covers. We use 10cm depth because the 6-8cm cushions on budget sets feel fine for the first half-hour, then compress and put the chair frame back under you for the rest of the afternoon. Our cushions hold their support through a long Sunday lunch, and we don't make them waterproof, by design (we hate waterproof cushions!). Just bring them in when the weather turns, or store them in a deck box.

• Ready To Use, No Flat-Pack Weekend:

  Every set in our range arrives either ready-assembled or with about a minute of assembly. We pack our sets in our own Leicestershire warehouse and ship them as complete units, so the chair backs slot into the bases and you sit down. Most rattan dining sets at four-seater and up ship as flat-pack kits, with three to four hours of bolts, misaligned screw holes, and unclear instructions before the first cup of tea. We chose differently because we'd rather you used the set the day it arrives than the weekend after.
