Reclining Rattan Furniture Buyers Guide

reclining rattan furniture facts

In this comprehensive guide, we’ll detail all of the facts about our reclining rattan furniture range, as well as some popular FAQs.

What is Reclining Rattan Garden Furniture?

Reclining rattan garden furniture is a type of outdoor furniture that comes with reclining garden chairs.

Rattan garden furniture is typically describing the modern type of synthetic plastic rattan weave furniture around a metal frame.

What is Reclining Furniture Made From?

Our reclining furniture range is made from plastic rattan and an aluminium metal frame.

The rattan consists of synthetic strands of rattan that have been UV stabilized to prevent fading or rotting, which are then hand woven around the frame.

The frame is made from strong aluminium that cannot rust, which is then powder coated into a colour that matches the colour of the rattan (usually black).

Our reclining range comes in grey, brown, and cream.

Benefits of Reclining Garden Chairs?

The benefits of reclining garden chairs are that they allow you to sit both upright and recline using a single chair. This means they can be used for formal seating, slightly relaxed seating, and fully relaxed seating, making them versatile garden chairs.

Our reclining chairs have unlimited angles, meaning anyone can find their perfect reclining range for their personal comfort.

How Does the Reclining Mechanism Work?

The reclining mechanism works using a sealed hydraulic tube, operated by an easy to access lever on the side of the chair.

To recline the chair, you open the lever on the side of the chair, then lean your body weight onto the chair backrest (which will recline), and then release the level when you’ve reached the desired position.

To bring the chair back to the upright position, simply open the lever, which causes the hydraulic system to push the chair back to the upright position.

Do You Stock 2 Seater Reclining Rattan Sets?

Yes, we stock a range of 2 seater reclining rattan sets. These tend to come with 2 chairs and a side table (bistro sets), and can include footstools for some sets.

Do You Stock 4 Seater Reclining Rattan Sets?

Yes, we stock 4 seater reclining rattan sets, including garden dining sets (a dining table and 4 chairs) as well as sofa lounge sets (2 chairs, a 2 seater sofa, and a coffee table).

Are Your Reclining Chairs High Backed?

Yes, the majority of our reclining chairs have high backrests, making them very supportive when sitting down, and perfect for people with back or neck pain.

Do Your Recliners Come with Tables?

The majority of our recliners come with side tables, coffee tables, or dining tables. All of these tables come with a shatterproof safety glass tabletop, which has small rubber grippers to prevent them from sliding off the table.

Does Your Reclining Rattan Come with a Warranty?

Yes, our premium range of reclining rattan furniture comes with a 3-year warranty. The warranty will be mentioned on the product page if it applies, and the full details can be found there.

How Far Do The Chairs Recline?

Our reclining chairs recline to a maximum angle of 150 degrees. Any more than this can cause issues with the chair tipping, which is why we chose this angle.

Does This Furniture Require a Cover in Winter or Bad Weather?

Our reclining furniture is weatherproof, and so doesn’t require a cover in bad weather or in the winter. It can survive perfectly well in wind, rain, and snow. We recommend you store the cushions as these aren’t weatherproof, but the rattan and frame will not rust, rot, or fade.

We don’t stock repair kits for rattan furniture, but we can put you in touch with our suppliers who can help.

Would Recliners Be Good for a Summer House?

Yes, recliners are great to relax in a summer house. Just measure the footprint of your summer house seating area and compare it with the footprint of the furniture set, to ensure it will fit in your space.

Reclining Rattan vs Normal Rattan

The main difference between rattan furniture and reclining rattan furniture is that with reclining, the chairs have reclining backrests.

Other than that, the materials used and benefits are the same.

Is Reclining Rattan Furniture Weatherproof?

Yes, our reclining rattan furniture is weatherproof, and designed to stay outside all year long without a cover. Just store the cushions, as these aren’t weatherproof.

Is the Rattan UV Resistant?

Why is Reclining Garden Furniture So Popular?

Reclining furniture has become more popular over the last 10 years as people focus more on relaxing outside, as opposed to simply al fresco dining.

They’ve also become popular as people like to buy one set to both relax and dine with, making reclining chairs a versatile option that offers you both.

Is Reclining Garden Furniture Strong?

Yes, our reclining garden furniture is very strong and durable. We have customers who come back to use 10+ years after purchase to say their furniture is still looking brand new.

What is the Quality of Good Reclining Rattan?

The main qualities to look for in good reclining rattan furniture is an aluminium frame and UV stabilized hand woven rattan. This is because some companies look to make cheaper products using a steel frame, which is heavier but also rusts, meaning the furniture degrades when left outside.

Also if the rattan isn’t UV stabilized, it will fade and become brittle when left outside in the sun.

How Long Does Reclining Rattan Furniture Last?

We have customers who have had their furniture for over 10 years, and it still looks brand new. We have a basic 3 year warranty on the furniture, but we expect it to last much longer than that.

Why is Reclining Garden Furniture Expensive?

Our reclining furniture is more expensive than others because we focus on quality materials. The use of aluminium and UV stabilized rattan is more expensive in the short term, but it means the furniture will last longer, so save you money in the long run.

The reclining mechanism is also more complicated and expensive to produce, making it more expensive than a normal rattan chair.

Why is it called a recliner?

Chairs are called recliners because the backrest of the chair reclines, and this is an easy shorthand to say that.

Rattan Recliner vs Padded Reclining Chairs

Our rattan recliners are not the same as “padded reclining chairs” that you remember from your childhood. Those padded reclining chairs were steel-framed green chairs with a large padded cushion, and weren’t made from rattan.
