With all of that experience, we have quite a large sample size of how long garden furniture tends to last in the UK climate.

How Long Does Weatherproof Rattan Furniture Last?

In our experience, weatherproof rattan furniture can last upwards of 10+ years. That’s because the materials are designed to not degrade when left outside, making them very durable.

Our rattan furniture has two specific features that make it last this long:

1. Aluminium frame – aluminium by nature doesn’t rust, so using this for the furniture frame prevents it from degrading over time, creating a strong structure that can last outside in the rain, snow, and ice.
2. UV stabilized rattan – UV stabilizers are substances added to the rattan strands to prevent a process called “photo degradation”, which is where ultraviolet light from the Sun degrades materials under constant exposure. This means that our rattan doesn’t rot or fade when left outside.
3. Handwoven rattan – our rattan is made using handwoven strands around the frame, creating a natural give in the sides and seat area of the furniture. Cheaper products sometimes use a hard plastic shell that isn’t woven, which is prone to cracking.

Although most of our rattan furniture comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty by default, our experience suggests it will last much longer.
